[Our Foundations] [What We Believe] [The Gospel] [Our Worship]

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).

We are a group of believers, free of denominational ties, who meet as a house church in the homes of our members. Based on governance by a plurality of elders, we are committed to the Biblical heritage passed on to us with faith and fidelity by the churches of the Reformation. We seek to be faithful in our own witness while at the same time striving to be salt and light in a sin darkened world.

We acknowledge ourselves to be sinners in the sight of God, being dead in our sin, justly deserving His displeasure and without hope of salvation on our own. Yet, we also believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Saviour of sinners, and do receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation.

How do we describe ourselves?

Well, first, we don't like labels. But if pressed, we would say that we are doctrinal and faithful, orthodox yet open minded, evangelistic and educational, informal but reverent, friendly and supportive. We are a community who believe that by carrying one another’s burdens, we fulfil the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2).

We preach Christ, and Him crucified.

Next to the Bible, we are guided (not bound) by a major summary of Christian belief known as the Westminster Confession of Faith, written at the end of the Protestant Reformation by scholars meeting at Westminster Abbey in London, England. The Confession is part of a collection of documents known as the Westmnster Standards. Though we cannot agree with everything in the Standards, we consider them nevertheless to be helpful guides along the spiritual path and the Christian life. Our biggest criticism of the Reformed (Calvinist, Presbyterian) church is that it has traditionally given too much weight to the Old Testament and not enough to the New Testament. Having said that, and upset a lot of people at the same time, we still believe that Reformed Christianity comes closest in doctrine to that of the Bible, than any other form of Christianity.

Our Essential beliefs

We believe in the inerrancy and supremacy of the Bible as God’s revealed Word.

We believe in the Gospel, which can be summarized as follows:

  • The Self-existence and Sovereignty of God.
  • The Sinfulness of humanity and the penalty for our sin (eternal damnation).
  • The Sacrifice made by Christ on the cross for the eternal salvation of sinners.
  • The call to all sinners to Surrender in repentance and faith, submitting entirely to Christ as Lord and Saviour.

We believe in the “Doctrines of Sovereign Grace”: Total inability, Unconditional election, Limited atonement, Irresistible grace and Preservation of the saints. This is also known as Five-Point Calvinism or TULIP.

We believe in the liberty of the conscience of the New Testament believer and the freedom of choice that comes with such liberty.

"In essentials, unity. In non-essentials liberty. In all things, charity (or love)."

Where do we worship?

Since we meet in the homes of our members, it is best to call if you are interested in joining us for a time of worship (see below).

When do we worship?

We currently worship every Lord’s Day (Sunday) at 10:30 AM and celebrate the Lord’s Supper at 12:30 PM on the last Sunday of each month.

The fundamental doctrine of the gospel is that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour. But for those who have not been touched by Christ’s Spirit and become converted, this is probably not all that helpful. Read about the Gospel and decide for yourself....more...
